Last call for 2014/15 Harrier Membership renewal

Please make sure you have posted your cheque and completed membership form for renewal or new membership. The first batch of registrations for England Athletics Memberships are being sent in the next few days. If you still owe us membership for last year (2013/14) please make sure you enclose that too as the Club can't reinstate you until all owed funds are paid.
The Membership year runs from 1st April, so was due on that date. You needed to advise us by March 31st if you were not going to renew. There is a £10 discount for members of Mendip tri or Mendip cycling club who are fully paid up members of those organisations. Please indicate your membership number/details of that organsiation on the completed form you post back to the Membership Secretary. Training fees at the track cost an extra £1 for those who have not paid up their membership fee so it makes sense to pay your fee as soon as possible, or to take out either a termly or annual training pass when you join/renew. AGM & Skittles 21st May 8.15pm

We are booked in for skittles and a meeting on Wednesday, 21st May at 8.15 pm. It is also the presentation of the annual awards. The more people we can get there who are not on the committee, the better! Wells Rugby Club - come for a run beforehand at 6.45pm if you can.
Lloyd goes 2nd on national rankings as Harriers compete on all surfaces over the Easter weekend

There were some great performances on the road, off-road and on the track by Harriers of all ages across the Easter weekend. Headlines are taken by V50 Lloyd Collins whose 10k time on the road takes him to 2nd on the national rankings for that age group. Our reporters have been out across the events and have sent in the reports.

The London Marathon on Sunday saw several of the Harrier seniors contest the classic 26.2 mile circuit from Greenwich, whilst another half dozen of the juniors ran as part of a very select south west region team in the mini marathon over 3miles (from Billingsgate), with both races finishing on the Mall with that great backdrop of Buckingham Palace. Meanwhile Wednesday (April 9th) saw great conditions help the talented Harriers of all ages from 11 to 70 to some excellent times at the first of the season's Yeovilton 5km races.
First of the spring Marathons and first Track & field performances of 2014

The Marathon season is now well and truly here with two Wells City Harrier members competing at Sunday’s 26.2 mile event at Taunton (April 6th), and another three at the Brighton Marathon held the same day. There are another half a dozen Club members racing at London this coming Sunday. Meanwhile the first track and field performances have also been recorded at the Yeovil spring open.
