A group of our Couch 2 5K runners.
HARRIER TRAINING GROUP
The Harriers run a social running session for all abilities on Wednesday evenings.
Wednesday night sessions follow on from the Couch to 5K course (see below for more details about our latest course) and are suitable for those wanting a more social run of approx 3-4 miles.
The Wednesday group incorporates all abilities including those who just want to run 5k regularly and those preparing for longer distances like half and full marathons.
Newcomers are welcomed for a trial session. We would recommend being able to run 5K. We encourage run backs so no one is ever left behind.
When: Wednesday for 6.45pm start
Who: Seniors 16+
Where: Wells Sport and Leisure Centre
The Couch to 5K is a good way to start, usually held over 8-9 weeks prior to the yearly Wells Festival of Running event in May (details below).
WHAT WE DO
We meet at Wells Sport and Leisure for a warm up before heading out around Wells for a 3-4 mile run. Mainly road-based ending back at the leisure centre.
The lighter evenings can see us heading out to Wookey/Burcott for a more scenic route.
Sessions last about 45-60 mins including warm up and cooldown.
The session is led by a UK Athletics trained Coach In Running Fitness (CIRF)
It is encouraged that members sign up to become members of Wells City Harriers to benefit from Club Insurance and kit discount. Social and competitive membership is available. Visit our membership page for more information.
