Wells City Harriers have a long tradition of organising various races and events across the area and we have helped various other community groups to ensure that their events are organised to a good standard.

The only races that the Harrier committee directly organise are the Street Series of races (October-March)

The Course

The course comprises 5 laps (1 lap for 1k / 2 laps for 2k). The lap starts at the zebra crossing on Farm Road. Take a left turn onto Southleaze Orchard (watch out for the bin and bench). Take the next left onto Orchard Road passing the Street United Reformed Church (race HQ). At the end of the road turn left onto the High Street passing a row of shops before taking a left back onto Farm Road. On your final lap please make sure you go through the finishers funnel to the left hand side, otherwise your result will not be registered and will not count.

Please note there can be many hazards on the course. The roads are not closed and there may be road traffic. Please be aware of pedestrians entering and leaving the shops on the High Street. The course passes a bin, public bench and a noticeable lamppost. The following day is sometimes bin collection day and there may be recycling boxes on the pavements. There will be plenty of marshals to help support you around the course. If you or another runner requires assistance, please alert the nearest marshal on the course.

Each runner of any age and ability will be encouraged, as usual, to run as quickly as they can on the night with good support. The timing clock at the start of every 1k, will allow you to check your progress during the race.

Prizes

There will be an award for all that complete the series. You must compete in 5 out of the 6 races to complete the series.

For each race there will be prizes for the male and female winner of the 1K, 2K and 5K races. There will also be prizes for the fastest runner in the following categories. SM, M40, M50, M60, M70, M80, SW, F35, F45, F55, F65, F75.

There will also be awards in the above categories for the overall winners of the series, for those who complete 5 out of 6 races.

Make sure you stick around for the award presentations after each race, as there are often random spot prizes presented.

2023/24 Results and Reports

Race results, photos and any report will be posted up within a day or two of each race on the Harrier Front Page. Reports and results from all races from previous series can also be seen below. 5k results will go to the Power of 10 and RunBritain.
