There was a great effort by the 12 Club members who formed the Harrier’s team at the National 12-stage Road Relays held on Saturday (16th April): finishing in 34th place out of the 67 teams competing, and once again the only team from the South west peninsula to take part. Meanwhile a few members have already been in Spring Marathon action ahead of the London Marathon this coming Sunday; and there was a whole host of members - 19 in total - out competing at the first of the season’s Yeovilton 5km races last Wednesday 13th April.

There were a large number of Wells City Harrier members competing over the Easter weekend. Oliver Fox had a great series of three races on the Isle of Man to be the outright winner of the Festival of Races whilst other Harriers were in action closer to home at the flat and relatively fast Easter Bunny 10k road race from Yeovilton, or at the multi-terrain Shapwick Bunny Hop race. Somerset Series standings after the first 5 of the year’s 20 races are now available and show that Justin Thomas is leading the way, with Tim Hawkins handily placed.
