Oliver Fox who ran for Team GB at the European Cross Country Championships in Hyeres, France, last December, paid a visit to the Harrier's Monday junior training session this week (18 July) to talk about his experiences of running in the Championships and pass on his knowledge. Oliver, who is back from University, first trained with the Monday group of Harriers when he was age 8 and talked about how important it was for athletes of any age to be consistent and 'stick with it'; it wasn't always the athlete who excelled at an early age who achieves success in the long run. The most important message, perhaps, was to make sure that you continue to enjoy it - train with others and have some fun as well as competition. Oliver also found time at the session to help pace some of the Harrier juniors for good 800m times. He was assisted by Dylan Dukes, another of our talented juniors. Read on for details of all the Harrier training sessions and additional photos at the various groups.(Monday photo below by Alice)
