Wells City Harriers had two of its talented squad of cross country runners competing at international events this past weekend, and a further 30 or so juniors in action at the Somerset Schools XC Championships. Luke Prior & Oliver Dickinson pulled on their respective England and wales vests at international events in Spain and Wales; whilst at Aldon Hill, Yeovil, the Harriers provided four outright champions - Daisy; Bradley; Poppy; Elise - in the various age groups and countless others have done enough to get into the selected Somerset Schools team for the forthcoming SW Schools Championships.( Photos below by Al of Bradley and Elise winning the minor boys and the Inter girls races respectively)

166th Street 5k RACE RESULTS - Junior results
The 166th edition of the Street 5k race - part of the Clive & Angela Thomas Street series - together with accompanying 1k and 2k races takes place on Wednesday 11th January. See calendar for full details. Race report and results will be posted here when available after the race.
The entry forms for the Harrier supported Babcary 7.6m Road Race (26th February) and the Butleigh 10km Multi-terrain race (19th March) are now available for down-loading and pre-entering. Copies of the forms should also be at the Street races over the next two months. All Harrier members and those thinking of joining us should note that the new membership year starts on 1st April. Great running by Harriers at South West XC Championships!

There was some excellent running at the South West Cross Country Championships held on Sunday on a flat and fast circuit at Exeter racecourse. This was a Championships where athletes competed for the individual regional title, their Club team and also, if selected for their County team. Many of the Harriers were selected for the Somerset County AA team. Conditions were good underfoot on the circuit and there was no lack of effort and endeavour by the best athletes from across the region. (Toby Watson with his medals)

Oliver & Luke called up for Welsh & English u20 XC teams

Congratulations to Oliver Dickinson and Luke Prior on being selected for their respective countrys to compete at forthcoming Cross Country fixtures.Oliver Dickinson learnt in mid-December that he had been selected to run for his birth country, Wales u20, in the Celtic Cup at Cardiff on 22nd January, whilst team-mate Luke Prior is to run for the England u20 team in Spain on the same day. A great achievement by the two juniors. (Ollie seen below)
