Wells City Harriers once again fielded a strong squad of athletes at the traditional Round the Lakes 10k race at Poole on Boxing Day; and at the Clevedon Boxing day run a very competitive team of u15 boys dominated proceedings. Luke Prior ran out winner over the 10k race at Poole whilst Matthew Quarterman won the Junior race over 3km at Clevedon with four other team mates in the top eight. Alex & Elise win at the 171st Street 5k whilst a whole host of Harriers compete at the County XC Championships in the sleet & snow, NOW -With added photos

Despite the wet and windy conditions at the 171st edition of the Street 5k races, Alexander Male and Elise Thorner were first on Wednesday (13th December). There were 63 runners who defied conditions to run, with some great running by juniors too in the accompanying 1k and 2k races. Meanwhile last Sunday (10th December) saw numerous Harriers contest the County Cross-country Championships, and several came away with gold, silver or bronze medals. Wells City Harriers had a contingent of senior runners out competing at the 19th edition of the Full Monty Cute 10 mile multi-terrain race on Sunday. Starting and finishing at Ham Hill Country Park, by Stoke-sub-Hamdon the muddy course attracted 257 runners. U23 Harrier Philip Bridge ran out winner.. The Swan Hotel was the venue - An excellent 2 course meal was served to the 80 hungry runners, and partners, and after a raffle, and the draw for the London Marathon places, the trusted ‘clapometer’ test was used to make sure that Duncan Verel thoroughly deserved his ‘bog-seat’. Later, Richard Morgan’s quiz had a few Harriers almost standing on their heads to make sense of some upside down tests of knowledge!
