Wells City Harriers had a large contingent of runners out competing at the Burnham-on-Sea Half marathon at the weekend. A number have been training together either at the Club’s session on a Wednesday evening or on the Sunday morning runs and all ran well for their times.

This past weekend (Sept 21st & 22nd) has seen another great weekend of running by the Wells City Harrier squad at the South of England Road Relays held at Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot. Headlines were taken by the u13 girls A team that gained silver medals for 2nd place, whilst the u17men finished a great 6th and the men’s V40 team were 5th when they competed on the Sunday.

Recent road and fell race results for the Harriers
There has been a host of excellent performances by juniors and seniors over the last week with the final Yeovilton 5k race taking place last Wednesday (Sept 11th) and then Harriers out competing at half marathons across the breadth of the UK: at the Bristol Half, the Great North Run; and at the Chippenham Half. In addition we had members competing hard at the South of England Fell Running Championships this past weekend – taking in three tough races over two days on the Isle of Wight.

Soon after 5pm on Sunday (Sept 1st) the fourth and final South West League Division One fixture was brought to a close,at the Exeter Arena. The combined Yeovil & Wells team was victorious, with the results indicating a very close match between the 7 competing teams. There was a great host of Monday and Tuesday Harrier juniors and seniors out competing, bolstering the team effort. Many thanks also to all team managers, officials and parents that helped on the day.

Baltonsborough 5 Mile Road Race 2013 - Results

The Baltonsborough races took place on Monday as part of the Bank Holiday weekend show, with fine sunny weather. Almost 90 runners took part in the slightly undulating 5 mile course around the surrounding quiet lanes with the start and finish from the village school.There were two junior/fun runs too.
