There was some great running by the Harrier squad at the SW XC Championships on Sunday Jan 5th. For both the experienced and the first timers the course offered at Killerton Park was challenging to say the least due to the combination of hills and mud. Oliver smashes 10k pb at Stoke St Gregory; Jon top ten at Clevedon race; Gwent League update

Whilst some Harriers might be taking a well earned break over the holiday period a number of others have stepped up their training and some have been out racing as much as ever. Oliver Fox well and truly smashed his road 10k time when he ran 32.12 to finish first junior and 2nd overall at the Stoke St Gregory 10k race on the 29th December whilst Jon James covered the 4 mile circuit at Clevedon on Boxing day with 21.16 being good enough for 10th place, 2nd V40.

32 Harriers took part at the pre-Xmas parlauf event at Millfield track on Tuesday evening under the watchful eye of Clive Thomas. With runners aged between 10 and 61 and paired up as fairly as possible by Clive based on current pace, there was fierce competition to see how far each pair could run in relay for the full 30 minutes of the session. After the effort, prizes and awards were made in the local pub. Read on for results and report.

There were 15 Harriers of all ages out competing at Sunday's final Wessex XC League fixture and results will soon be available on the League website. 72 Harriers have been entered by the deadline into the South west Clubs and County XC Championships to be held on Jan 5th. Meanwhile the regular Sunday group for those training towards London or something similar is well underway.
