Oliver excels in his very final English Schools XC Championships as over 20 Harriers compete for their County whilst Matthew runs for Welsh u20s

Over 20 of the Harriers squad competed for their County schools team at the prestigious English Schools XC Championships held at Witton Country Park Blackburn this past Saturday, March 14th. Top of the Class was Oliver Fox with his silver medal winning performance in the senior boy’s race; whilst pick of the girls was Caitlin Carnegie’s 29th place finish in the inter girls race. Meanwhile at Antrim, Matthew Dickinson was called up to run for the Welsh u20s team in the Home Countries International. 26th Year of Street 5km sees Kieran & Linda crowned King & Queen

Race number 156 in the Street 5k Series on Wednesday March 11th saw 77 runners race the 5 laps in relatively good conditions, with another 6 runners in the accompanying junior 1k and 2k races. Whilst the Harrier's Kieran Young retained his crown as King of Street, Linda Lascellles of Maiden Newton stepped up to be the overall Queen of the Series. Nicholas Bosley won the 1km Series and Tom Loader the 2km Series. Race results in the panel to the right.

There were a host of Wells City Harrier athletes competing last weekend at various local, regional and national events. At the national Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships held in Birmingham the Harriers provided the backbone of the Somerset contingent for the County team. At the Big Cheese Trail Race (Cheddar) and at the Great Western 10k multi-terrain we sawsome geat runs, but pick of the news is probably the fact that Clare Prosser was 1st woman home at the incredibly tough Grizzly Race held on March 1st!
