This past week or so has seen the Harriers with athletes competing hard at many disciplines and over different terrain when racing. 18 year old Ollie Thorner, now an Honorary Life Member of the Club, excelled himself when claiming the UK u20 bronze medal at the Bedford multi-events competition – some great performances across his 10 events. Meanwhile, Karen Shears seems to have enjoyed the Geat Wall of China, and closer to home there was some good running by Harriers at the Crewkerne 10k road race. Also, read on for the list of Harrier Annual Awards made recently.

Over thirty members of Wells City Harriers have competed this past weekend (May 11/12) at track and field and multi-terrain races. The major event of the weekend was the County Athletics Association's Track Championships held in Yeovil and there were some excellent performances and personal bests set by the Harriers. Mid-week was also the 2nd race this Series of the Yeovilton 5k. Looking ahead - all Harriers are reminded that the Club AGM is next Wednesday, May 22nd (8pm) at The Globe public house in Wells.

This past weekend (May 3rd-5th) has seen almost 40 performances by Harriers at a variety of events, with 19 members competing at the various Glastonbury races on the Sunday. Archie Tyler won the 5k race whilst Jack Harvey won the 3k race, despite racing the night before on the track! Zoe Kurle won for the women whilst Tom Dukes was 3rd overall in the Round The Tor 10k race. 17 members competed at the British Milers Clubs middle distance races at Millfield on the Saturday with 11 gaining personal bests.
