It's been a great weekend of running for members of the Harrier team. At the prestigious English Cross-Country Championships Matt & Oliver Dickinson had great runs; at the Somerset Schools XC Championships there were over 30 Harrier juniors out competing at the various age groups for their schools; 4 seniors competed at the very tough Quantocks fell race; and finally on Sunday, at the Harrier supported Babcary Road Race, over 110 competitors in total took part over the 'undulating' course.

John Reynolds is at it again! This time he plans to do the Bath Half Marathon, with a difference.

Having achieved an unofficial World Record last year of 440 miles in under 7 days, John is doing something a little less ambitious, and with an added local charity flavour. John’s chosen charity this year the National Osteoporosis Society, based at Camerton
(see
www.nos.org.uk ).
The plan is to run to the start of the Bath Half from his home in Radstock, but via Wells, the Mendip Hills, Dundry and Bristol, a total of 70 miles, if you add in the Half itself.
Here is a schedule of the run. If you would like to join John on any part of this, give him a call, or just turn up on the day (or night).

There was another great set of performances by the Wells City Harrier squad at the 4th fixture in the Gwent Cross Country League at University of Bath on Saturday Feb 9th. With almost 40 Club members competing in the different age races the Harriers have looked to consolidate their leading positions in a number of those age groups. Isobel Glaisher and Oliver Fox in the u17 women’s and u17 men’s race once again looked supreme, whilst there was a 1-2 in the u15 boys’ race where Sam Sommerville and Luke Prior set the pace. For the senior men Nathan Young was an excellent 2nd despite a slight miscalculation.
