The first 5km race out of the 6 race series organised by Wells City Harriers kicked off in grand style last Wednesday evening with a strong turn out of junior runners.

Dickinson in National Final & Parker also achieves a personal best (Late Aug 2010)
Wells Harrier Matthew Dickinson finished an excellent 7th at the England Athletics u15 Championships recently at Bedford when he recorded a new personal best of 9.36 for the 3000m track race. Matthew has steadily improved throughout the year and has been recording personal bests every month across the middle distances under the coaching programme devised by Wells City Harrier coaches.

Baltonsborough Bank Holiday Road Races
The sun shone on all taking part in the series of races on the Bank Holiday weekend races. A 1.5 mile race and a 5 mile race attracted over 100 runners held in conjunction with the annual Baltonsborough Show.

Wright medals at Southern Championships Sept 18th& 19th 2010
Pete Wright kept up the tradition of Wells City Harrier athletes medalling at the tough South of England Fell Running Championships this past weekend. The Championships were once again combined with the Isle of Wight Fell Running series with Club Chairman Paul Chadwick again presenting the SEAA medals to the Championship winners. Pete picked up the V60 bronze for his performances across the Series of 3 races in two days against runners from right across the southern counties, finishing in overall 49th place in the field of 105 men. Paul Chadwick finished 44th and 5th V50, whilst Helen Rutter contested just the third of the races, a half-marathon, in a time that was 10 minutes quicker than last year.
