It has been a busy couple of weeks with Harriers racing across the country. This article includes race reports from the Cardiff Race for Victory 5K, The Runaway Train, South West Athletics League Match 1 and the first day of the Somerset Track and Field County Championships. Member Adam Sutton is also fundraising for the BHF, and there is a reminder of our AGM date on Wednesday 15th May at 19:45 in the Kings Head, Wells.

TCS London Marathon 2024 Report

Stuart and Stephen having a well earned rest after completing the TCS London Marathon 2024.
The TCS London Marathon is the largest marathon in the world, with over 53,700 finishers this year and is one of the six World Major Marathons.
This year we had nine Harriers represented at the TCS London Marathon. Christian Green and Zak Hurrell earned a place after achieving the championship qualifying time, David Hirst had a ‘good for age’ entry, Stephen Nicholls and Graham Goldsmid received entries through our club ballot, and Callum Cardwell, Melissa Aspinall, Stuart Nash and Matt Lusby got their entries through the main public ballot. The group included two marathon debutants, five PBs and a personal course best performance.

Track & Field season gets underway at Yeovil Open; Shapwick multi-terrain results

This week's web report concentrates on the start of the Track and Field season with the annual Spring Open at Yeovil giving all the opportunity to get their season underway, achieve good marks, and maybe catch the eye of our Team managers at Yeovil Olympiads.
We also have a brief report from the Shapwick multi-Terrain race held on Easter Monday which saw a small group of senior Harriers racing to gain their Cider!
