When the going gets tough, the tough get going! Whilst many sports, parkruns and the Great South Run in Portsmouth might have been cancelled this past weekend, the intrepid were out running through the mud and wading the streams on the Mendips in a lovely Fell Race.
Plaudits were gained by many Harriers with Deputy Chair Christian Green (see above) smiling on his way to victory whilst Phoebe Aspinall was also 1st woman home on the day. Not to be discounted, however, is the amazing efforts by the host Club, Weston AC, and the sterling work of their marshalls who stood out on the hill whilst being battered by the torrential ran and high winds. In some respects the runners had it easy as they kept moving....

It’s all smiles from our Wednesday evening social and couch to 5k groups.
This week’s report includes Oskar Beck’s top performance in the English National Cross Country Championships, a review of this year’s ‘Up and Running’ couch to 5k group, a summary of the senior men’s team performance at the SEAA 6 Stage Road Relays, and the results from the final Yeovilton 5K race of the series. South of England Fell Running Champs; Track & field 2024 wrap up; & Training update

This past week has seen Harriers of all ages from u11 to V70 out competing hard at the various disciplines of athletics - at track & field in Yeovil or Exeter; at some tough fell races on the Isle of Wight; and on the road at the Great North Run.
This round up covers the South of England Fell Running Championships, the end of season wrap up from the track & field athletes especiallly those who have competed at SW League and at the Open events; and also has a little bit about our Harrier training nights on a Monday and a Wednesday.
