"A FRIENDLY RUNNING CLUB THAT WELCOMES ATHLETES OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES"

The first round of the McCain Challenge held at Ashton Court saw our top Juniors and Seniors set themselves up for the series with some great runs.

The u15 boys’ race saw our leading u15 boys Sam Somerville and Luke Prior in the leading group for most of the race, managing to finish with Sam 4th and Luke 5th. This follows up a great result from Gwent League, Matthew Dickinson again following up a good result from the Gwent League with 7th in a very strong field.

In the U17 girls’ race Emily Smith ran a strong race to also give herself a top ten position in 6th place. Kerian Young who trains with us had a top 20 position in the u20 race where he will still be competing in the next 2 years.

The senior men's race saw Frank Tickner and Nathan Young who both ran great races. Frank gave everything to break the field on the 3rd lap of the 4 lap race but with only a limited amount of xc training in his legs held on to a great 3rd place, with Nathan running a well-judged race in this international field to finish inside the top 20 in 19th place and put last week’s disappointment behind him in style.
