Whilst one Harrier was breaking a world record a large contingent of Wells Harriers were competing at Glastonbury’s series of road runs.

With 10k, 5k, 3k and a fun run there was a large mix of distances and ages pounding the local tarmac in sunny conditions.
In the 10k, Harrier Eddie Richards finished 2nd to winner & former Harrier Tom Bush from Altrincham AC clocking 35:38, 24 seconds adrift of the winning time whilst picking up the local 1st prize and winning the V40 category. Tom was a Wells Harrier when he lived in Somerset and makes a winning return to these parts whenever he comes down!
Amongst the leading runners in the 400 field were Paul Maskell 7th ( 2nd senior male ) 36:41, Tom Dukes 11th 37:40, Adam Cox 22nd 39:24 and Steven Higgs 33rd 41:13.Wells ladies featured strongly with Rebecca Carver 85th 45:47 2nd U20, Carol Buckland 1st FV 45 46:16.
Other finishers R.Whitcombe 52nd, J.Beveridge 55th, M.Rusca 68th, P.Wright 122nd ( 1st V60), E.Sheridan 136th , G.Sheridan 137th , C.Williams 157th (2nd V60), H.Carver 246th , M.Colman 272nd, T.Kingham 273rd , P.Challis292nd, S.Bowles 342nd ,M.Maskell 358th ,J.Dukes 370th , C.Ross 375th.
With the many juniors running in the 3k outright winner was Wells Harrier Mark Bailey clocking 10:53 with Alex Williams 4th, Louise Rusca 32nd .
The 5k race saw James Williams ( year 9) leading home the harriers he finished 13th in 19:55, followed by A.Gibbons 33rd , M.Rusca 67th , L.Williams 77th , J.Noad 85th , J.Rusca 133rd , A.Gibbons 213th .
In the Fun Run we had a clean sweep of Harriers with Monday training partners Ollie Thorner winning from Dylan Dukes and Luke Macpherson. Innes Davidson was 1st girl with Elise Thorner close behind
