Clive and Angela Thomas Street 5K 2025/26 Series
The 2025/26 series starts next month! We are excited to announce a new addition to this year’s series; chip timing! We hope this will allow the processing of the results to be more efficient on the evening. Each race costs £12 (£10 for those who are England Athletics registered). We also offer a series discount. Enter the whole series for £60 (or £50 with EA). Our October race will be our 210th edition!
Remember to keep your race bib number for the entire series. If you race again within the series, but forget your bib there will be a small additional charge to replace it.
Each month’s race takes place on the second Wednesday of the month. The race dates are as follows:
Wednesday 8th October 2025
Wednesday 12th November 2025
Wednesday 10th December 2025
Wednesday 14th January 2026
Wednesday 11th February 2026
Wednesday 11th March 2026
Enter here.
If you’re not racing, please consider volunteering on the evening.
There are 1K and 2K junior races that you can sign up to on the evening.
National Road Relays
Unfortunately, the senior men’s team did not qualify for the National Road Relays. However, entries are now open for all other categories.
If you are a junior runner or a senior woman and would like to take part in the National Road Relays at Sutton Park in Birmingham on Saturday, 4th October, please get in touch as soon as possible.
The deadline for team entries is Friday, 26th September, so we need to confirm numbers soon.
Christmas Meal
The club can now confirm our annual Christmas dinner will take place on Saturday 6th of December at Wells Golf Club - put the date in your diary now! Further communication will be sent out regarding tickets, menu choices and the entertainment and schedule for the evening.
London Marathon Ballot Draw
We announce our club place for the London Marathon at our Annual Christmas Meal. If you were not successful in the general ballot, but would still like a place, there is a chance to enter via our club ballot. Below is the criteria to be included.
London Marathon Club place(s): We receive 1 guaranteed Club place each year for the London Marathon and most years we have a 2nd place due to our partnership with Yeovil Olympiads (this is based on how many competitive members we have registered at each club). To be eligible for the Club place(s) you need to:
(a) Have been a Club member when you applied in the main London ballot;
(b) Have an England Athletics registration;
(c) Have been rejected in the main London ballot and provided evidence of the rejection;
(d) not to have had a Club place in the previous 3 years.
If you think you're eligible please send your rejection confirmation to
Shepton Mallet (Collett Park) Parkrun Takeover
Wells City Harriers are delighted to be supporting Shepton Mallet Parkrun by providing volunteer pacers on Saturday 25th October 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for club members to give back to the local running community, while also helping to showcase our club to new faces.
We’re initially looking to provide pacers for finish times between 20 and 30 minutes, but if you’d like to pace a different time, please let us know – all offers are welcome!
If you’re interested in pacing, simply get in touch with the time you can comfortably cover, and we’ll allocate slots accordingly.
If this first event goes well, we hope to make this a regular feature by supporting the final Parkrun of each month.
Finally, a big thank you to Fergus, who has kindly taken the lead in coordinating this initiative.
Gwent League XC
The return of the Gwent League is just around the corner! Last season we had a record number of athletes competing, and it would be fantastic to build on that momentum. We even fielded a scoring women’s team for the first time in several years.
Race days are always full of team spirit, and the more Harriers we have on the start line, the better the experience for everyone. To encourage as many athletes as possible to take part, the club will once again cover all registration costs.
The fixtures are:
11th October - Margam Park, Port Talbot
8th November - Llandaff Fields, Cardiff
6th December - Blaise Castle, Bristol
7th February - Chepstow Race Course
28th February - Parc Bryn Bach
The registration process for the upcoming cross-country season will remain the same as last year, with one important change: they will be moving from bar code scanning to chip timing (the chip will be embedded in the race number). This should improve accuracy, but it is more expensive. Last year, around 800 numbers issued to clubs went unused, so it is vital that numbers are only allocated to athletes who intend to compete.
To avoid waste, please only register if you (or your child, if you are registering on their behalf) plan to take part in at least one fixture this season. Jon James will once again be handling registrations.
If you expect to compete, please email your details to
Wessex League XC
The Wessex League is a fantastic way for juniors to get into cross country racing, offering a friendly and competitive introduction to the sport. We’d love to see as many of our junior Harriers taking part this year as possible – with all entry fees covered by the club. There are also races for seniors, so the whole club can get involved.
The club have now registered for the Wessex League XC fixtures. If you, or your child is looking to participate this year, click here and register their name. The club has already paid for your entry fee, therefore you need to select "League Team Member Registration (For members of registered clubs) £0.00".
You can race an individual event, however, if you wish to complete the series, you must compete in at least 3 fixtures. Individuals will score in your best three results from the series. Once allocated a bib number, the runner is to reuse the number in each race.
The fixture dates are (All Sundays):
26th October 2025 - Learoyd Road, Canford Heath, Poole, Dorset
2nd November 2025 - Bryanston School, Blandford, Dorset, DT11 0PS|
30th November 2025 - Kings Park
14th December 2025 - Canford School, Canford Magna, Dorset, BH21 3AD
