At the Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday May 22nd a new committee was appointed for the year ahead and the Annual Awards were presented. Read on for details.
Annual Awards for 2012/13
Senior Man: Frank Tickner retaining the award
Frank is Inter-counties XC Champ; McCain Champ for 2nd season running; and was selected for Team GB at Worlds XC again..
Senior Woman: Clare Prosser succeeding Katrina Prior
Clare’s performance at the London marathon in April 2012 (3.02) merits this award and she also gains the Marathon shield.
Junior Boy: Oliver Fox retaining the award .
Oliver ran for England schoolboys in March 2013, captaining the Inter Boys.
Junior Girl: Isobel Glaisher succeeding Lucy Baldwin
Isobel was selected for the English schools team in 2012.
Marathon: Clare Prosser succeeding Tim Hawkins
Clare’s 2012 London Marathon time was 3.02
Veteran Man: Lloyd Collins succeeding Clive Harwood .
Lloyd won the v50 category at Gwent XC League
Veteran Woman: Sam Baker succeeding Jenny Moore .
Sam has been the most consistent of our veteran women athletes this past year, competing in all of the Gwent XC League fixtures and at Championships.
Most improved Runner/Athlete: Paul Maskell succeeding Katie Hellier
Marathon 3.57 in 2011 to 2.59 in 2013; also winner of Street series 2012/2013
Club Person of the Year : Graham Goldsmid succeeding Ian Eddy
Graham is an ever present at Monday coaching and mostly on a Tuesday eve; whilst also doing various schools liaison work for the Club and being a great team member
