A report on Harriers competing in the second match is to follow soon.

In the first match , for the Harrier-trained athletes, the event was used as a stepping stone for the South of England Road Relays (Sept 22nd) at Aldershot, or in preparation for the tougher Gwent League matches that comence next month. Of course there was also some school rivalry going on!

In the Year 7 race Harrier team-mates Chris Ellis & Dylan Dukes had a great battle for the line. Dylan took out a huge lead with his front-running tactis but Chris didn't give up and just caught him at the end. Will Pate & Archie Heath who will also be in one of the u13 boys teams at Alderhsot also had great runs.

In the Year 8 race Josh Thorne & Alex Williams, who will also feature at Aldershot had a great race chasing the runaway leader Oscar Rogers. Next in from the Harrier trained team was Joe Heath in 6th.

In the Year 9 race Lucy Baldwin who trains with the Harrier squad on a Tuesday had a clear victory, whilst Monday group harriers Jess Pate & Iona Moir were 5th & 8th. For the boys, Johnny Ellis, Freddie Gummer and Louis Tichenor were 2nd , 3rd and 4th for some good racing. Most will feature at Aldershot.
