Sam Weale learnt last week that he has once again been selected to compete for Team GB at the Olympic Games this coming August. Sam will go in the Modern Pentathlon on Saturday August 11th 2012.
Sam, who comes from East Coker, near Yeovil has competed as part of the Wells City Harrier's Cross-country team on a number of occasions in the past - usually as part of his training and fitness regime to ensure he is one of the top pentathletes in the UK if not the World. Sam was 10th at the Beijing Olympics and entered 2012 somewhat off the pace, but has now been chosen as one of two male athletes to represent TeamGB. The modern pentathlon consists of swimming, fencing; horse-riding; shooting and running.
Sam's mum coaches and team-manages as part of the Yeovil Olympiad set up and joins us at the cross-country events as part of our partnership arrangements every year. WELL DONE SAM & GOOD LUCK FOR AUG 11th!
