Whilst most Wells City Harrier members were out competing, assisting, marshalling or administrating to help the committee at the Shepton Mallet Fun Run, a small number contested the Burnham on Sea Half marathon this past Sunday.
The mainly flat circuit was contested by over 200 runners. Despite the heat, one of the Harrier’s leading women athletes Katrina Prior won the 13.1 mile race in 96.45, (28th place overall) whilst Rex Whitcombe made his debut over the distance with a solid 1.41 for 45th place. Sam Baker achieved 1.53 for 103rd place, with Robert Moore not far behind in 107th place in a time of 1.54. Rita Powers achieved 1.56 for 117th place to complete the team.
