....Coach, or volunteer for another role with the Club? The Harriers can only be succesful if there are members and parents willing and able to step forward.
COACHING WITH THE HARRIERS
We are really fortunate to have a great set of members and parents who give up their free time to help with coaching, team managing, helping with transport, helping with kit, promoting the Club, attending committee meetings, and helping out at the Street 5k race Series (see below) amongst other races.
We expect all members and parents of juniors to take their turn and help out. We are currently looking to recruit new volunteers who fancy helping out at coaching on a Monday or Tuesday evening. By going on a course it will give you the qualification and confidence, as well as the insurance, to help out officially. Just think how you can help your child, or your fellow athletes to improve....
UKAthletics offer a one day course for those aged 16 and upwards (Athletics Leader course); and a three day course for those who want to be an Assistant Coach. Once you are qualified we will pair you up with an existing coach to help guide you and work with you whilst you gain in confidence. For the latest information on courses go to:

Book early to make sure you get a place
If you commit to helping on a regular basis we will reimburse your coaching course fee,
STREET SERIES HELPERS
We are also looking for members to help out at the monthly Street races which start in October through to March. Expect to be approached at Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday training sessions in the next few weeks to sign up to a particular month to help out as a marshal, or be in the finish funnel, or to help run the refreshments. Ian Eddy (Tuesday) is in charge of marshals; Paul Chadwick (Monday training) is Race Director; and Mike Brown (Wednesday group) can all be approached and advised that you are coming to help. The Street races are an imprtant income earner for the Harriers - they are the only local races that we raise funds from as all the other local races we support are for local good causes.
