(AS OF 31st DECEMBER 2020). ALL FORMAL HARRIER coached sessions are now on hold following Govt announcement of Somerset moving into Tier 4 - no Club organised coached Monday or Tuesday sessions. Train with members of your household or with a maximum of 1 other person from another household (max of 2 of you)
WHAT HAS PREVIOUSLY HAPPENED: FORMAL SENIOR HARRIER TRAINING SESSIONS RECOMMENCED AFTER LOCKDOWN 1 IN LATE JULY 2020 & AGAIN AFTER LOCKDOWN 2 IN DECEMBER 2020 AT STRODE COLLEGE SPORTS CENTRE - to start with these were aimed at senior Harrier members (18+) but were then extended to Harrier members age 14+ on the Tuesday night and for our junior members on a Monday night.
When training as a Harrier group or training solo you can follow our training programme - the current one can be seen on the latest article on the Harrier front page of website. When Griup training is allowed to resume you will need to BOOK IN ADVANCE
Our Club training sessions take place at Strode College Sports Centre on the grass. When Millfield School again allows us to hire the Track facility we will be re-locating there.
When YOAC have traioning sessions you might also be able to train with them. These are also now on hold.
WE ARE RECRUITING FOR NEW COACHES (see below)
The Club has an agreed Risk Assessment for the venue it hires and it has been shared with the facility managers to their approval. We do not run formal Harrier sessions on public areas.
When we resume training sessions - Given the pressure on how we have to organise and run sessions, and the fact that our coaching resources may be spread across 2 or 3 nights a week we are again RECRUITING TO THE COACHING TEAM. Please contact Paul, Graham or Jon if you want to know more about what it entails and talk through with Paul how the Club will pay for your Coaching course.
Please follow Govt Guidelines during Coronavirus lockdown - and check the England Athletics Guidance when training on your own or with one other Harrier in a safe manner. Please only train in public areas and do not use private facilities until the Harriers have a formal agreement with facility managers.
