Wells City Harriers

Wells City Harrier members have been out competing at some tough races this past fortnight. 6 Harriers were part of the 350 runners who tackled the Cheddar Big Cheese Trail Race coveting 15 hilly miles of the Mendips, with a height gain of over 2000ft.
 
Justin Thomas was first home for the Harriers in 28th place in 1.59, whilst Chris Kelsey was 1st V60 overall in 2.09. Other Harriers:

The previous Sunday saw some great running amongst the big crowd at the Bath Half Marathon. Chris Green led the team home in 1.14, with V50 Nick Somerville next in 1.22.

Meanwhile on the same day Harrier Secretary Paul Chadwick travelled to the Stretton Hills near Shrewsbury for the first round of the English Fell Running Championships. He finished16th out of 26 V60 competitors over the 7mile, 2000ft of ascent course where there were some route choices between checkpoints.
 
The next Harrier supported Community race is at Butleigh on Sunday April 14th and entries are now open for this 10k multi-terrain Race.
