Wells Winners abound at Baltonsborough.

Last week’s bank holiday races at Baltonsborough had 18 harriers taking part in both the 1.5 mile junior and the 5 mile race.

Wells featured prominently in the honours list with numerous category winners and the overall race winner Jon James proved yet again that he's the man to beat,

Good conditions gave runners the opportunity to achieve quick times around the quiet undulating lanes and veteran James broke away from the main field at the half way point to cross the line in a rapid 26.37 mins equating to 5.19 min/mile pace, with up and coming Jack Bancroft (28.16) in an impressive 2nd place managing to hold off 3rd placed James Denne from Honiton by 12 seconds.

Wells had 6 top ten finishers with Matthew Lewis (29.08) 4th and veteran Les Lewis (29.34) 5th overall who was the highest placed V50 both running sub 6 min/mileing.  Alex Wiltshire 7th overall took the first junior award as did Wells trio of ladies winning each of their respective age category's, Anna Lewis 1st women, Sue Cook 1st V45 and Pat Lewis 1st V55.
