Tickner creates History. Harrier senior Men finish 9^th team in all England. Harris & Wiltshire run well in the u13 & u15 races respectively.

We are very pleased that Bruton’s Frank Tickner created a little bit of athletic history this weekend by completing the clean sweep of all 4 of the major domestic titles in 1 season. He won the English National XC title at Sunderland by the proverbial mile, to add to his triumphs at the European XC Trial Race; the World XC Trial Race; and the Inter-Counties Trial Race. He was by the way the youngest ever winner of the Inter-counties. (I didn’t know that until Athletics Weekly pointed it out).

Frank led home the Harrier team of 6 to a top 10 finish on a blustery Sunderland course which was dry and fast, and was well supported by elder brother Ben, 11^th, Adrian Marriot. 29^th, Andy Hennessy, 38^th, Pete Grist in 147^th and last man to count Jon Gilling who stormed in for 235^th place. Well done to all and many thanks to Jon James for team managing and driving the minibus to & from the North East.

In the U’13 boys race, George Harris ran an excellently judged race again as he steadily pulled back a host of runners to finish in13th place. Alex Wiltshire ran well in the U’15 boys race to finish 35^th. A great effort by all.
