Slaughterford 9 - Sun 27th Jan 2008

The conditions were very good for this year's Slaughterford 9 mile race - the sun was shining for a change and visibility was clear.  The girls came out on top as the first 3 Wells runners home were all in the F45 category and were the first all veteran team home (though no prizes on the day!).  Everyone had a good run and managed to stay smiling even after the last testing hill.  Jane was very pleased with a PB for this course, her sister Lucy is on target for her sub 4 hr marathon this year and Sue, in training for the Shakespeare Marathon at the end of April, also had a comfortable run. 

Results are as follows:  Sue Cook 1:20:07, Jane Whittaker 1:25:33, Lucy Chard 1:27:40, Simon Jones (M50) 1:27:41, Allan Jamieson (Senior) 1:29:23, Pat Challis (F55) 1:35:26, Kevin Wheeler (Senior) 1:36:41 and Judy Baynes (F45).  Pat looks forward to celebrating her next big birthday in a few days time.
