Bank Holiday Monday 29th August saw the annual gathering of runners assembled outside the Baltonsborough school to tackle the 5 mile road race and the junior and fun runs over 1.5 miles.
The 1.5 mile junior race and fun run won by 12 year old Oliver Dickinson saw him head home a field of junior runners. His rapid winning time of 9min 8 secs was well clear of second placed Alex Williams and James Williams 9.22, 9.32 respectfully. The leading females were Megan Rusca, Louise Rusca, and WCH’s Victoria Prior.
The 5 mile race attracted over 70 runners, the overall winner Nathan Young from Bristol and West ac pulled out an impressive lead to cross the line in 26mins. 45 secs, second place going to the leading Wells Harrier junior Matthew Dickinson whose time of 28.11 brought him home ahead of third placed and second placed Keiran Young who clocked 29.05.
Wells’ Curtis Stevens in 6th place put in a great run to clock 30.25, he headed V40 Simon Prior in 9th place. The first vet home was V50 Martin Lascelles from Maiden Newton.
1st lady and 1st female V45 was Lin Lascelles she finished in a time of 31.21, with Wells’ Katrina Prior 2nd lady and leading V35 in a time of 34.09.
