Tickner 5^th in Trials for Team GB

Frank Tickner finished 5^th in the McCain Cross Country race held in Liverpool on Saturday.

The race included the trial for selection for Team GB to compete at the forthcoming European Cross Country Championships to be held at Albufeira in Portugal on December 12th. Frank’s time of 28.59 for the 9.8km course was just 14 seconds down on the winner, Steve Vernon, and we await confirmation that Frank has been selected for the Team. Frank has previously been selected on 4 separate occasions for Team GB to compete at the World XC Championships, and has also been national XC champion on two occasions.

Meanwhile Frank’s elder brother, Ben, has been out competing on the road and finished an excellent 4^th at the recent Brighton 10km race in a nippy 30.25. Both Ben & Frank are running better each week and are part of the strong training group that the Harriers have assembled over the past decade or so. Both of the brothers will be part of the strong harrier team to compete at the South of England Championships in the New Year.
