Report from the Southern Men’s League fixture
Saturday May 15th
At the weekend there were
again some good performances on the track. Three of the seniors were in action
on Saturday at the Southern Men’s League fixture and helped the joint Yeovil
& Wells team finish 2nd at the meeting. Simon Prior and John Rowe
ran even paced races in the 5000m to score good points. Simon in18.26 and John
18.36. They then also competed for the first time ever in the 3000m
steeplechase and ran in together in a time in a time around 13min.
Also running as a guest in
the steeplechase was Pete Darton who
was unable to count for the team here as he turned out in the Club’s National League
team last year. He ran a keen time off 11.28.
Harriers keen to support the
effort on the track and field should contact team managers as soon as possible
– see Harrier front page.
The main effort this year
for the Senior Men will be the British League Div 3, but there will also be the
opportunity for those who are available to have a go at the Southern Men’s
League.
