Juniors at the Somerset County
Track & Field Championships 2007 – well done to all!
There were 5 Medallists from
amongst the Monday juniors competing as part of the combined team with Yeovil
Olympiads:
U’13s
- Roo Black – Gold
at High Jump (1.30m); 5th in long jump (3.59m); & got
through to 200m final (31.69 in heat)
- Will Norris - Silver in 800m (2.34); 4th in long jump (3.82m)
- Emily Smith – Bronze at 800m; ran well in the 70m hurdles (15.53) ; & 7th in long jump (3.31m)
- Vera Assis – Bronze at 1500m (5.43); 5th
in the High Jump (1.00m); & ran well in 70m hurdles (15.85)
- Tristan Goldsmid – Bronze at1500m (5.08)
- Anne Butler – 8th in long jump
(3.31m); & ran well in 100m (15.87)
- Elisabete Assis – competed well
at all events long jump (2.83m); 100m (17.75) & 7th in the 1500m
(6.46)
- Jordan Boobyer – in the 200m
(34.59)
- Curtis Stevens – ran well in the 100m (15.92); 5th
in 800m (2.44)
- Jess Hazlewood – 7th
in 100m final (14.78 in heat; 15.59 in final)
U’15s
- Kimberley Bartlett
– 7th in Javelin (14.03m)
- Leah Bowhay – 6th
in the 100m final (14.68 in the heat)
- Tom Singer – 7th in 100m final (13.72
in heat; 14.11 in final)
There were others competing
for their school – including Hattie Ffookes in the
800m (2.56) & Charlotte Carpenter, 4th in the 200m (32.91) in
the 100m (15.00); Callum Batten 6th in the
1500m (5.26) & 8th in the 80m hurdles (17.76)
In the older age groups the
Harriers provided a number of Medallists, including several Golds,
as part of the combined team.
