Harriers chase the Bunny

The Easter holiday weekend saw the Harriers contesting the Yeovil 10km and Fun run organised by Yeovil Town Road runners at RNAS Yeovilton.

A wide range of ages entered both races with the juniors enjoying successes across the board in the Fun Run. First overall was Luke Prior with Abigale Gibb 2^nd and 1^st U13’s girl, with just 13 secs separating them at the finish. Other U’13’s saw Michael Biss 8^th and Megan Rusca 12^th.

Victoria Prior was first U10’s girl (15^th overall ) with Briony Keeble 21^st, Liouse Rusca 23^rd and George Biss 28^th completing a strong turn out by the juniors.

A large field of over 350 runners started the 10km race whilst the mainly flat course was tempered by the strong winds there was some impressive times set. Winner Steven Way from Bournemouth AC clocked 30.55 with a top 10 finish for harrier Alistair Lindsay in a rapid 33.37. James Hardy 39^th clocked 37.34 with Simon Prior 38.56 leading the clubs vets home in 55^th place.

Other vet runners in a strong pack included Dave Stanfield (39.54) 61^st, Graham Goldsmid (40.18) 64^th, with a great run from junior Reuben Whitcombe (40.59) 75^th, Paul Chadwick (41.38) 83^rd and Katrina Prior (41.48) 84^th (2^nd V35).

Other finishers were M. Rusca 113^th 44.11, P. Wright 136^th 46.15, S.Jones 154^th 47.13,

1. Osborne 248^th 54.29, K. Hawkins 253^rd 55.06, S. Etherington 258^th 55.17, J. Mason 262^nd 55.33, K. Franklin 324^th 1.02.47.
