Harriers chase the Bunny

 

The Easter holiday weekend saw the Harriers contesting the Yeovil 10km and Fun run organised by Yeovil Town Road runners at RNAS Yeovilton.

 

A wide range of ages entered both races with the juniors enjoying successes across the board in the Fun Run.  First overall was Luke Prior with Abigale Gibb 2nd and 1st U13’s girl, with just 13 secs separating them at the finish. Other U’13’s saw Michael Biss 8th and Megan Rusca 12th.

Victoria Prior was first U10’s girl (15th overall ) with Briony Keeble 21st, Liouse Rusca 23rd and George Biss 28th completing a strong turn out by the juniors.

 

A large field of over 350 runners started the 10km race whilst the mainly flat course was tempered by the strong winds there was some impressive times set. Winner Steven Way from Bournemouth AC clocked 30.55 with a top 10 finish for harrier Alistair Lindsay in a rapid 33.37. James Hardy 39th clocked 37.34 with Simon Prior 38.56 leading the clubs vets home in 55th place.

 

Other vet runners in a strong pack included Dave Stanfield (39.54) 61st, Graham Goldsmid (40.18) 64th, with a great run from junior Reuben Whitcombe (40.59) 75th, Paul Chadwick (41.38) 83rd and Katrina Prior (41.48) 84th (2nd V35).

 

Other finishers were M. Rusca 113th 44.11, P. Wright 136th 46.15, S.Jones 154th 47.13,

  1. Osborne 248th 54.29, K. Hawkins 253rd 55.06, S. Etherington 258th 55.17, J. Mason 262nd 55.33, K. Franklin 324th 1.02.47.
