GRIZZLY

Early report

A host of senior Harriers competed at the tough Grizzly race held over hill and beach on the Devon coast. It was supposed to be 20’ish miles but who knows? – what is clear is that it was a long way….

Clare Prosser was 1st Harrier home in 101st place overall, 4th woman, in a time of 3hrs 6 mins. This is all part of the big London Marathon build up. The Grizzly actually is a pretty good estimate of a road marathon so we wish Clare well in the final 5 weeks of training.  Clare’s partner Dave Bonstow was left far in her wake in 247th, and then came John Reynolds 351st - out for a short stroll compared to his usual 50 mile training runs in preparation for the big one in May.

Gary Tubridy finally managed o get his racing shoes on after organising the previous week’s Babcary race with his 517thposition – is he starting his training now for this year’s two day OMM, due to be held in the South-west? (must be Dartmoor). See Fixtures.

Webmaster supreme Bob Powell was 555th then champion ‘tug-of-warrerNick Edwards in 1066th. Meanwhile part of the winning Hestercombe Humdinger team Jenny Adams was 250th in the accompanying Cub run in a time of 2hrs 17 mins.
