Tickner wins European Bronze for Team GB

Wells Harrier Frank Tickner had an excellent run as part of the Team GB at the European Cross Country Championships on Sunday. Competing on a 10km course in Brussels, Frank finished 10th in the senior men’s race and helped the 4-strong Team GB to win bronze team medals, behind Spain and France.

In the live BBC television coverage Frank could be clearly seen in the leading pack for most of the race with the commentators congratulating him on a great race, providing excellent support for Mo Farah who led the way for Britain and finished in 2nd place overall.  This was the third year in succession that Frank has been selected to run at either the European or World XC Championships. Frank will next be donning the Wells Harrier vest when he defends his South of England XC title at the end of January, when the club once again looks to finish in the top clubs from across the region.

The World XC Championships are due to take place on March 29th 2009 at Amman, Jordan.
