Wells City Harriers

 

Yeovil Town’s mid summer series of 5k races saw race number 4 attract over 100 runners with a spread of representatives from many south west based clubs, though race winner Tim Crossland was running in Leeds City Army colours. Wells speedy veteran Jon James just missing out on overall victory by a mere second as the pair almost crossed the line together, each clocking impressive times of 15.36 and 15.37 respectively. Within ear shot was Wells second star of the evening Eliot Haimes who finished third overall he posting a rapid 15.47, whilst Yeovils Tim Hawkins in forth position headed up the next group of sub 17 minute finishers including Wells Rob Parfitt who squeezed in a 16.59 placed 8th.

It was definitely ladies night for Wells, with Anna Lewis winning in 18.23 whilst Jenny Moore took the first vet 35 award just 9 seconds down on Anna each were placed 23rd and 25th overall.

Wells male vets featured prominently throughout the field, Steve Masters 13th -17:21; Matthew Lewis 15th -18:10; Dave Stanfield 18th -18:25; Paul Knight 29th -19:14 ; Ed Tickner 31st -19:16 , with a total of 18 harriers taking part including:-

R.Appleby 50th - 20:35; M.Scadding 52nd - 21:00; A.Scadding 56th - 21:07; B. Lee 69th - 22:47; P.Rainbow 78th - 23:37; C.Martin 97th - 27:27; K.Franklin 99th - 28:09; K.Sadd 108th - 32:03.
