Glastonbury 10K and 5K Road Run

 

Wells City Harriers were out in force at last weekends Glastonbury's revised and extended 10km race with 35 members taking part and 20 finishing in the top 100.

 

There were a number of award winners both male and female; Jon James in 2nd place overall clocking 32:56 was 12 seconds adrift from winner Bristol's Mick O'Doherty, Jon having pulled clear of Eddie Richards in 3rd place who was the local senior male winner.

 

Wells’ Claire Martin and Jenny Moore, fresh from their London Marathon successes, were clear winners, with Claire clocking 37:20 to take first lady and Jenny picking up the first vet 35 award.

Marion Colman, Angela Thomas and Pat Challis were placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the vet 55's; Catherine Goldsmid was 2nd vet 45.

In the 5km race Reuben Whitcombe was 1st Year 9 boy, and was placed 4th overall.
