Wellington 10 mile and 10K

 

Wells City Harriers had a large contingent of members entered in each of the two races held at Wellington over last weekend.  The 10 mile and a 10km races attracted approximately 250 runners in both events.  With hot and sunny conditions the course had several hilly sections which affected many runners especially at the 4 mile stage.

Jon James excelled in the 10 mile distance finishing 2nd overall clocking exactly 56 mins and was the first V40, whilst Les Lock was 16th overall and took the 2nd V50 award in a time of 63.09.  Wells leading lady Alice Hector ran impressively placed 2nd overall clocking 67.17.

 

Success for Anna Lewis in the shorter 10 km race saw her win the senior ladies award with a time of 40.23, second to finish for Wells was Rod Little who clocked 41.52.
