The weather turned up trumps for this popular local run, organised for the 9^th year by Somer Athletic Club in Midsomer Norton. A full field of 226 finishers had sun and an occasional cooling breeze to remind them of the storms last year. St Johns Ambulance were kept busy with a few who couldn’t cope with the heat.

Wells City Harriers took away three “gongs” – all for ladies. Pat Challis took first Female Vet 60, with a time of 70:33 in 179^th place; Jane Whittaker was second Female Vet 50 (60:00, 111^th); and Claire Prosser took third Female overall (49:55, 43^rd).
