Yeovil Easter Bunny 10 km

Wells Vets winners

Yeovil Town Road Runners hosted this annual bank holiday event held at the Yeovilton Royal Navy Air base last Monday, amongst the 400 plus runners was a large number of Wells Harriers tackling the flat and, for some, fast course.  Cool blustery conditions were experienced around the surrounding lanes of the air strip and Yeovil’s Adrian Marriott covered the 10km in a very rapid 31minutes 50 seconds being clear of Wells’ Jon James in second place who was just over a minute a drift clocking an impressive 32.57 and he was the winning vet 40 male.  Third place went to Andrew Chambers who was close on the heels of Jones throughout the race.  The high quality field saw Jenny Moore take 2nd Female overall and following in Jon James shoes, winning the ladies vet category with a time of 38.20.

Wells had 29 finishers; Matthew Lewis 21st in 36.10 with fine veteran performances from Steve Masters, 16th in 35.17, Leslie Lock 35th in 37.34 who’s looking strong for the London Marathon.
