The Babcary Road 7.5 mile race held last Sunday attracted almost 140 runners from around the South West with a large percentage representing Wells and Yeovil clubs.
The Harriers had 12 entrants and it was Les Lock who yet again was to shine as one of the most consistent & successful vet 50's his 4th place overall saw him take the first V50 place ahead of Frome's Brett Sadler in 5th place Les clocked 45.52 around the quiet, laned course, Luke Quilliam from Bitton AC was the clear race winner in a time of 42.20. A top 10 finish for Karl Watts saw him clock 50.20 and his London marathon training looks in good order. Pete Wright 20th (53.52) headed home the other Wells finishers as follows:-
