LONDON MARATHON; Prosser & Moore excel for the Women; Elliot Haimes run’s a stormer!
There were some fantastic runs at this year’s London Marathon race by members of Wells City Harriers. Well done to all that competed whether for charity, ‘to get round’, or to beat a personal best time. Please let the webmaster know of your time and story so that it can be added to the website.
We do know however that there were some amazing times by two of the Club’s top Women runners. Clare Prosser and Jenny Moore both ran personal bests of under 3hours. Clare’s time of 2 hrs 56.53 sliced 13 minutes off her previous best, that’s 30 seconds per mile quicker than she’s gone before. She ran the first half in 1.28.06 so that’s incredible even paced running. Her time gave her 26th overall amongst the women’s field.
Jenny Moore also recorded a personal best and was again under 3hrs with her 2hrs 57.31 for 32nd position overall. Jenny was 4th F45 competitor . She ran 1.24.46 for the first half.
Elliot Haimes was the fastest of the Club’s men with his 2.35.17 for 104th place overall. He came through half way in 1.13.22. Jon Gilling ran a solid 2.55.20 and whilst he may be disappointed compared to his previous bests around the 2.40 mark, that’s still a great time.
