Well done to all the athletes that competed at Bath University on Sunday 8th

 

  • Almost 70 of the combined Wells & Yeovil team competed at Bath
  • We had Individual winners in minor boys, u’13 boys and Senior men
  • There were several other top ten performances
  • Solid packing throughout all races
  • Well done to those running for the first time
  • Team results awaited

 

We will need to buy a bigger tent if it goes on like this. Almost 70 competing athletes and many parents tried to get in to the tent away from the heavy shower that poured down early in the proceedings on Sunday. We had some keen and enthusiastic youngsters to get racing underway and they were matched by keen and enthusiastic team managers and older athletes throughout the day (Thank you). Deadline coming up on Dec 1st for the Somerset Championships, SW Championships and South of England Championships – please let us know well in advance if you are wanting to compete, don’t leave it until the night before... See note on website. Please let your team manager (list below) know if you want to be entered for any of these matches

 

& Just to remind you ….the Club’s Annual Social event is on Saturday November 28th - this includes the Club’s annual awards and we will try and celebrate the XC team success accordingly. The event is held at Wells Town Hall. see website/newsletter for details.  Please contact me as soon as possible to confirm if you are attending: junior tickets £8; senior tickets £12 - see website front page.

Annette Weale (Yeovil) & Paul Chadwick (Wells) will be the main link to junior training groups and will deal with Minor boys/girls and those age groups we don’t have managers for. All junior entries for championships etc should be notified to them as well as team managers so as to make sure you are on the entry sheet.
