Wells Juniors qualify for AAA champs

Two of our Wells City Harriers Juniors have qualified for the AAA English champs this weekend 18th and 19th August.

Luke Prior will be in the u15 3000m with a qualifying time of 9.52.  Luke said he is looking forward to this major Championship and hopes to represent the Club well with a massive PBand a top 10 finish.

Matthew Dickinson is going in the u17 3000m with a time of 9.01.  Matthew hopes to finish a mixed season with a high, again a top 10 finish with a sub 9min run would be a great finish to the season. Both have put a lot of hard work into this race and we wish them good luck for Saturday and Sunday.

Within a short time a small group of runners were assembling by the Fountain in the Wells Market place for the Wednesday run every week. The new Club was called Cathedral City Striders to start with and then changed its name to Wells City Harriers in 1982.
