Congratulations to the young Harriers that have been selected for the Somerset Schools team to compete at the prestigious English Schools Championships coming up on July 5th & 6th at Alexander Stadium, Birmingham. This follows on some excellent performances at track and field the past two weekends. Also in winning form was Kieran Young when he ran away from 500 other competitors at the Chew Valley 10k road race when wearing his new Harrier vest for the first time.

Harrier teams have been out recce'ing the 103 mile long Cotswold Way, ready for the relay race on Saturday June 29th, and others are getting ready for other Fell races at the Beacon Batch race (to the top of the Mendips) and the Charmouth Challenge.

There were some sparkling performances by Wells City Harriers this past Bank Holiday weekend on the track and on the road. 30 Harriers were competing at the Somerset County Track & Field Championships held at the Yeovil Arena, whilst a further 30 or so were out competing on the road at the Wells Fun Run and one of the Club’s senior TeamGB athletes took on Mo Farah at the London 10k race.
